While searching information for my post about Artin, I found this webpage with everything you could need to know, and much more, http://homepage.mac.com/pmarchand/newindex.htm . Here you also have Artin homepage http://www.artin.com.hk/html/index_contact.htm and its distributor in USA http://www.artinslotcars.com/ . As you know it is a chinese company based in Hong Kong with good prices and fair quality. You can also find them in Toys´R´Us with the name Fast Lane. In this scale prefer SCX, but the price for Artin tracks is very good and you can use SCX Compact cars on them, except special lanes in the Hevy Jitters tracks with a smaller slot.

The history of SCX or spanish Scalextric

In 1962, the English company Lines Bros Ltd, owner of the trademark Scalextric , signed a contract with the Spanish company Exin . This Spanish company would sell the Scalextric products in Spain and Portugal, manufacturing everything but the cars in Spain. After some time, even the cars would be done in Spain. Exin created soon their own line of models, being the first one the famous Seat 600 in 1966. In 1971 Lines Bros Ltd, as a result of its financial problems, sold the Scalextric line of products to Dunbee , Combex and Marx. Exin went on being a subsidiary of Scalextric and selling their products in Spain. And they got more independence from the mother company. At this time Scalextric decided to sell more quantity with less quality and Exin decided the opposite. These were the golden years of Spanish Scalextric . SCX, Scalextric in Spain

SCX, Scalextric in Spain has had a long history, and a lot of problems. Its beginnings, and the curiosity of the shared name with the British company Scalextric, Superslots in Spain, is explained in one of my first posts  Spanish Scalextric or SCX in the rest of the world . After Tecnitoys, the brand belonged to fabrica de juguetes  Fabrica de juguetes from 2012 to 2016. After many problems and keeping a toy line called WRC  WRC , the brand Scalextric/SCX belongs from 2017 to  Scale Competition Xtreme, SL. (SCX, SL.)   Scalextric . This new company has started focusing on the 1/43 line, will they work as a toy company or will they be back in the hobby field? Please share your thoughts. And Merry Christmas!
