New SCX car Porsche 911 GT3

SCX® presents the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. One of the most prestigious cars from the great German manufacturer, with a uniquely elegant, exclusive design.
The most striking thing about this model is its white colour scheme with the GT3 Cup logo in different colours running along both sides of the vehicle, as well as its sporty lines. The classic Porsche style is retained, but with all today’s aerodynamic features.
At the front are the characteristic headlights of this German car, with prominent air intakes, as on the bottom. The Michelin and Mobil logos in the centre, together with the detail of the hook in red, add colour to a nose which naturally features the Porsche logo, located between the bonnet catches. On top of the bonnet is the Carrera Cup Deutschland competition logo. The German manufacturer’s name appears at the top of the windscreen, along with the single wiper.
The GT3 Cup logo appears three times on the side, first in red and then in two shades of grey underneath. The web address www.porsche.com above the wing mirror and the rear side window with the unusual openings in it are other distinctive details featured on this Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. As far as the wheels are concerned, they do not let down the car’s overall appearance in any way. They are grey and highly sporty, including the bolt in the front wheels and the Michelin logo on the tyres.
The back view of this model is also highly attractive. The characteristic Porsche spoiler, with the manufacturer’s name on the top and only visible from the front, is probably the most eye-catching feature, though the silver-coloured twin exhaust at the bottom in the centre is not to be missed either. Above them is the Mobil 1 logo in the space for the number plate, and above that the Michelin one, both largely blue but with touches of red and black in one and yellow in the other. At boot height, in the centre like the above-mentioned logos, "GP3 Cup" appears in relief letters. On either side are the rear lights, red and elongated in shape, and nearer the middle are the silver-coloured security locks. The effect is completed by two further details: the red rear hook and the white interior of the car, this time without a co-driver, this being the rule in the competition in which the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup takes part.
Track trials
Driving on the track at racing (or sports) speeds, it displays a very similar performance to the other Touring-type cars in the SCX® the digital system range. In terms of size, weight and mechanics the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is very much in line with what you will be used to in the cars which have already raced on your digital circuit.
Its strong point is probably its trim lines. Not too wide at the rear, slender at the front and not too heavy, this is a car which changes lane smoothly, nips neatly into the box and is manoeuvrable in the constant search for the right line to follow. Overtaking is no problem, and it slips comfortably through heavy traffic.
What we do recommend is that if you use the extra magnet (as in this test) you should set it very low down, between 1mm and 1.5mm from the track surface, in order to take maximum advantage of the ground effect. You can adjust it with the two screws that come with the magnet. The trick is to set it so low that you practically ground on the track. Trying it out over a couple of laps is the way to find just how low you can go.
The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup from SCX® the digital system is suited to several types of competition. You can line it up against the other Touring cars or against the WTCC GT’s, where this type of car in this size with this performance is up there with the pack. However, you can also perfectly well start a new category with it, none other than the Porsche Cup. The car’s perfect responses on the track provide the perfect excuse to take several of them and set up races between competitors with the same technology. The only thing you have to be careful about is identifying them differently – so that you don’t end up in the Pit Box with your competitor's car!"

The new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is designed for the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup competitions and the Porsche Carrera Cup and GT3 Cup Challenge championships, so don’t expect to come across it on the streets of your neighbourhood any time soon. This new model from the top German manufacturer has increased its power rating to 420 horsepower and taken on the contemporary style of the Porsche 911 GT3 in an effort to update its lines and make it much more dynamic.
The real car reproduced here by SCX® is fitted with a six-speed sequential gearbox, allowing the driver to change up without needing to use the clutch or take his foot off the accelerator, as it features a system similar to that used in MotoGP bikes.
The GT3 is the sportiest model in the 911 range, and the first irresistible feature of this vehicle is its powerful sound, which changes with the different phases of the variable admission.
Gear changing is fast and precise when taken to the limit, reaching 132km/h in second and up to 181km/h in third. Its hard feel calls for a decisive touch, and it has a very short distance between gears. The hardness of the clutch pedal is a feature of sports cars.

The history of SCX or spanish Scalextric

In 1962, the English company Lines Bros Ltd, owner of the trademark Scalextric , signed a contract with the Spanish company Exin . This Spanish company would sell the Scalextric products in Spain and Portugal, manufacturing everything but the cars in Spain. After some time, even the cars would be done in Spain. Exin created soon their own line of models, being the first one the famous Seat 600 in 1966. In 1971 Lines Bros Ltd, as a result of its financial problems, sold the Scalextric line of products to Dunbee , Combex and Marx. Exin went on being a subsidiary of Scalextric and selling their products in Spain. And they got more independence from the mother company. At this time Scalextric decided to sell more quantity with less quality and Exin decided the opposite. These were the golden years of Spanish Scalextric . Every child in Spain wished to have one…In 1980 Scalextric was sold again, this time to Hornby Hobbies. It seemed Exin would have no financial problems, they e...

SCX, Scalextric in Spain

SCX, Scalextric in Spain has had a long history, and a lot of problems. Its beginnings, and the curiosity of the shared name with the British company Scalextric, Superslots in Spain, is explained in one of my first posts  Spanish Scalextric or SCX in the rest of the world . After Tecnitoys, the brand belonged to fabrica de juguetes  Fabrica de juguetes from 2012 to 2016. After many problems and keeping a toy line called WRC  WRC , the brand Scalextric/SCX belongs from 2017 to  Scale Competition Xtreme, SL. (SCX, SL.)   Scalextric . This new company has started focusing on the 1/43 line, will they work as a toy company or will they be back in the hobby field? Please share your thoughts. And Merry Christmas!
