First SCX flagship store

The Spanish firm Tecnitoys/SCX® opened the first shop of its own in the world yesterday, Thursday 15th October, in the Times Square shopping centre in the city of Shanghai, China. http://www.shtimessquare.com/en/shopping/main/aboutus/index.htm . With this the Spanish brand has finally arrived on the Chinese market, where it will be expanding gradually with shops of its own or franchises, first in Shanghai, to be followed by Beijing and Hong Kong. The aim of all this is to situate its product at the premium end of the consumer market. With 70 square metres (over 750 square feet) of floor space, the shop will stock all the SCX® product lines, with demonstration tables inside the shop and a larger permanent track outside. With this new business model involving shops of its own, Tecnitoys/SCX® is making clear its interest in the Chinese market, which has an estimated potential of $1 million even at this early stage. I was surfing the net when I found this interesting slot cars producer, a chinese company named Jin Jun toys . If we check some of their slot cars sets the boxes are amazingly close to ??? Yes, maybe they built them in China for the Euroepean company and now they are using the know-how. Has anybody tried them? how do they work? I´ll try to get a set and post about it. My first SCX vs my first Scalextric

Here you can see how different these two companies are trying to reach the youngest slotters. While SCX (Spanish Scalextric) has made the set at you left for kids from two years old, Scalextric (Superslot in Spain) is selling the one at the bottom for children three and older. As you can see the spanish SCX is RC and very easy to set up. It comes in a box you can use as a playmat after using the toy. The Scalextric one is just a HO or 1 64 set. Which one you think would better fit with your kids...
