Audi TT DTM

The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM, German Touring Car Masters) is a touring car racing series based in Germany , but also with rounds elsewhere in Europe . From 2000 onwards, this new DTM continued the former Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (German Touring Car Championship) and ITC ( International Touring Car Championship ) which had been discontinued after 1996 due to high costs. The DTM returned in 2000 as Mercedes and Opel had agreed to use cars that were based on the concept car that was shown by Opel on various occasions, eg. the 1999 24 Hours Nürburgring were Opel celebrated its 100th anniversary. The series adopted the format of the 1995 championship, with most rounds held in Germany with occasional rounds throughout Europe, but having learnt the lessons of the ITC disaster the ITR constantly strived to keep costs in the series from exploding to unreasonable levels, and to keep the championship firmly tied to its German roots. As too many races were planned outsid...

Citroen Xsara Rally

Hello. This is a Citroen Xsara Rally. Rallies are well known in Europe, not so much in USA. You can take a look about them in www.wrc.com. This one is the car used by Carlos Sainz (a spanish driver who has won the world rally championship twice) in Montecarlo in 2003. That year he ended the championship in the third position, after Solberg and Loeb

Cars from around the world

What I have realized living in USA is how different slot cars can be. I would ask you to send me pictures cars that are not from the famous brands (SCX, Scalextric, Fly, Slot.it,...)This way we can all share our experiences and learn more about this fascinating world. Thank you,

My last car

This is my last 1/32 car, and maybe the one I like more. It is a Viper and has been made by a spanish company, Fly, http://www.flycarmodel.com/ .

My 1/32 cars

Hello again, today I am posting my last four 1/32 cars. I say the last because I have had many cars since I got my first SCX about thirty years ago. I remember Ford GT, Chaparral GT, Mercedes C111 Wankel, Audi Quattro, Chevrolette Corvette Dragster and Porsche Carrera: I have never had a Formula 1 car. now I am thinking about buying one. What model do you recommend? I hope you enjoy the pictures, and please, share yours with me.

The history of slot cars

The first commercial slot cars were made by Lionel http://www.lionel.com/ (a toy train company from the USA) and appeared in their catalogues in 1912, drawing power from a toy train rail sunk in a trough or wide slot between the rails. They were surprisingly similar to modern slot cars, but independent speed control was available only as an optional extra. Production was discontinued after 1915. Sporadically over the next forty years, several other electrically powered commercial products came and went. Although a patent was registered as far back as March 1936 for a slot car, until the late 1950s, nearly all powered toy vehicles were guided by raised rails, either at the wheels (railroad-style), or at the lane center, or edge. By the late 1930s, serious craftsmen/hobbyists were racing relatively large (1:16 - 1:18 scale) model cars powered by small internal combustion engines, originally with spark-ignition, later with glow plug engines. For guidance, the cars were clamped to a sing...
