SCX, Scalextric in Spain

SCX, Scalextric in Spain has had a long history, and a lot of problems. Its beginnings, and the curiosity of the shared name with the British company Scalextric, Superslots in Spain, is explained in one of my first posts  Spanish Scalextric or SCX in the rest of the world . After Tecnitoys, the brand belonged to fabrica de juguetes  Fabrica de juguetes from 2012 to 2016. After many problems and keeping a toy line called WRC  WRC , the brand Scalextric/SCX belongs from 2017 to  Scale Competition Xtreme, SL. (SCX, SL.)   Scalextric . This new company has started focusing on the 1/43 line, will they work as a toy company or will they be back in the hobby field? Please share your thoughts. And Merry Christmas! A video, in Spanish, from the company  Video

Anki, the future of "slot cars"?

No slot, no rusty rails, no electricity problems? Is this the future of the game? Will new fans reach the hobby and become as passionate as the former slot cars lovers? Is there a future for slot cars or it is slowly fading away? Anki video Or the future is a cheap set? WRC set

A new line of slot cars. Carrera First, a middle ground between 1/43 and 1/64? Is there room for a new scale in slot cars?

SCX Morgan Aero 8 Martin

Driving a Morgan is something special. It means opting for a level of manufacturer which is rare in the world. With its semi-artisan feel, the British brand has a wealth of potential, unique sensations and unparalleled style which has barely changed in more than a century. The Morgan Aero is the perfect combination of all of that. It is, undoubtedly, a powerful beast in an elegant outfit. At a time where the major generalist manufacturers are dominating touring car racing series, opting for a Morgan may seem counterproductive. Nothing could be further from the truth. The sports-orientated vocation of the small factory in Malvern, Worcestershire is one of its strongest assets. The Aero 8 is not just the best-looking car on the starting line. It is also a tough rival, due to its aerodynamics, performance and behaviour. The model which we have reproduced is a clear example of all of that. In 2009, the duo made up of the Belgian Maxime Martin and the French Gaël Lesoudier, within the A...

Slots cars hobby has a future?

Every time I go to a toy store, slot cars are becoming more difficult to find and if found, they are cheap Chinese toys, not hobby items. With a stronger competence from technological devices (drones, gaming consoles, ...) and a declining slot car hobbyist population, is this going to have a crisis like in the 80's or will it completely disappear?  If I follow my family/friends example (children, nephews, friend's children...) NONE of them is playing slots, so, I could be the last one. How is it going in your family/friends group?  is it still alive? Please share your opinions/ideas. Thank you http://www.dmxslots.com/ http://realfxracing.com/ Could these new companies/ideas be the future?

I love this car - Scalextric Chevrolet Camaro

Introduced in February 1970, the second-generation Camaro was produced through the 1981 model year, with cosmetic changes made in 1974 and 1978 model years. The car was heavily restyled and became somewhat larger and wider with the new styling. Still based on the F-body platform , the new Camaro was similar to its predecessor, with a unibody structure, front subframe, an A-arm front suspension, and leaf springs to control the solid rear axle. Road & Track picked the 1971 SS350 as one of the 10 best cars in the world in August 1971. RS (shown to the right), SS package was dropped in 1972 and reintroduced in 1996. The 1980 and 1981 Z28 models included an air induction hood scoop with an intake door that opened under full throttle. Information from Wikipedia. The Access RAC Tourist Trophy race at Silverstone, 5th October 1975 was won by the 5.7litre Chevrolet Camaro of Stuart Graham. The instantly recognizable BRUT 33 Fabergé sponsored Chevrolet Camaro was driven by ...

ARDUINO AND SLOT CARS - HELP NEEDED!

I have recently purchased a Vilros Ultimate Starter Kit for ARDUINO (great purchase, by the way).  I am very interested in this microcontroller and the possibility of learning, at the same time, electronics and programming. Right now, I have just started and blinked a LED and use a potentiometer to keep it blinking longer or shorter. But I am already thinking about the future, and my other hobby, Slot Cars...So, I would like to know if anybody has already tinkered with Arduino, doing things for slot cars. I was thinking of building a lap counter with speedometer, but, I still have to learn a lot. Please share if you already know how to do things with Arduino for slot cars. Thank you.
